The highlight of the Light Chasing design is the use of lighting. A huge ring light on the ceiling, positioned in the middle of the square, serves as a spotlight, allowing visitors to capture stunning photographs while experiencing the space. This unique feature not only adds a touch of glamour but also provides the perfect lighting conditions for showcasing products and testing skin conditions.
Symbolic meanings that echo the packaging of the brand can be seen throughout the space. From the welcoming wall that highlights the brand's diamond concept to the hexagonal honeycomb structure light curtain, which symbolizes molecules and atoms, every element has been carefully designed to create a cohesive and visually striking environment.
The realization of the Light Chasing design incorporates various materials and textures. The use of piano lacquer and matte paint emphasizes the texture of black pearls, while titanium plate and wool-silk texture create metal lines that connect the space, forming different refractions with light. Terrazzo is used to create a fashionable and transparent sense of cleanliness, while the symbolic meaning of the fountain coincides with the important element of water in the client's products.
Technical specifications of the Light Chasing design include a floor area of 247.935 square meters. The space is designed for product introduction and banquets, with a functional audio system installed in the ceiling to ensure excellent sound quality. A detachable projector allows for easy product changes according to the seasons, creating different shadow projections. The laboratory features tube glass with a mirror-refracted bottom, giving visitors the illusion of floating in the air and emphasizing the concept of lightness.
As a light-based interior design, the Light Chasing design carefully considers the color and intensity of the light. Through extensive 3D rendering, the space presents zero blind spots of light, effectively showcasing the image of light and water associated with the client's products.
The Light Chasing project was completed in July 2020 in Xinyi District, Taipei City. The design team faced various challenges, including the construction process taking place in different areas and the need to transport finished goods to the site for assembly. However, through meticulous planning and communication with the clients, these challenges were overcome, resulting in a stunning final result that perfectly integrates light and the brand concept.
With its fusion of yellow and white light, the Light Chasing design creates a transparent beauty that is both captivating and elegant. The use of projectors to project light and shadow on products and wall screens adds depth and dimension, showcasing different ages and appearances of skin. Under the light, the products take on an extraordinary texture, perfectly complementing the packaging design.
The Light Chasing design, created by Yue Han Li, has been recognized for its excellence and creativity. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021.
